Showman & Coole

Through twenty years and a couple of thousand shows together in bands such as The Foggy Hogtown Boys and The Lonesome Ace Stringband, John Showman and Chris Coole have developed a deep and instinctual musical bond.  Their music lurks in a truly unique space that is somewhere on the outskirts of old-time, bluegrass, and folk. 

 

Mountain Highway

With a style all their own, Mountain Highway is a musical family group performing bluegrass, country, and gospel music originally made famous by icons like Bill Monroe, the Carter Family, Ralph Stanley, and a few outliers like the Eagles and Linda Ronstadt. Two sisters and a family friend play banjo, guitar, and mandolin as they sing three-part harmony, while the sisters’ dad plays an electric upright bass.

The Price Sisters

Music has always had a resounding presence in the lives of twin sisters Leanna Price and Lauren Price Napier. Growing up, their parents sang traditional and old-time country songs and as the sisters grew up hearing duet harmony, they naturally became accustomed to singing together themselves. In the spring of 2016, Leanna and Lauren signed to Rebel Records and released an EP that August, thus pursuing to tour professionally as The Price Sisters.

Evie Ladin Band

Water Tower

is the current moniker of multi-instrumentalist Kenny Feinstein’s musical brainchild, originally founded in 2005 in Portland. While their lineup has evolved over time, fueled by Feinstein’s masterful song-crafting, fiercely DIY approach, and genre-bending sonic identity, Water Tower have established themselves as a global force to be reckoned with.

SLO County Stumblers

The SLO County Stumblers are an energetic American string band based in California’s Central Coast. The band features fiddler Casy Meikle, guitarist David Baine, banjo player Daniel Bohlman, and banjo builder Jerry James on bass. The band formed in 2018 when Meikle returned to California after several years in Middle Tennessee where he became steeped in the region’s musical traditions, traveling extensively with a variety of Southern string bands and with buckdancer Thomas Maupin. The Stumblers play hard-driving old time fiddle tunes and spirited songs, heavily influenced by the golden-era string bands of the 1920s and 30s.

The Honeysuckle Possums

are a high-energy, all woman string band, playing old-time mountain music, originals, & bluegrass. These gals have foot-stomping, down home, back porch rhythm, creating and sharing joy wherever they go!! The Honeysuckle Possums have played all over California and Oregon and continue to gain praise for their beautiful harmonies, incredible instrumentation, and spirited Appalachian Flat Foot dancing.

Amber Cross

Originally from Maine, Amber spent her early years surrounded by gospel music in a small town church where her father preached and her mother played piano. After leaving her studies at New Mexico State University to pursue her love for music in 2003, Amber has lived up and down the coast of California; the San Francisco Bay Area, the Sierra Foothills, the San Joaquin River Valley, the coastal range of Sonoma County, and now San Luis Obispo County.

Blue Birds on a Wire

(BBOAW) came together for the first time in May of 2023 when they filled in, last-minute, on the main stage at the Parkfield Bluegrass Festival. It was clear at that very first gig that something magical had been born. As far as they know, BBOAW is the only bluegrass band with a lead singer on the pedal harp.

Red Dog Ash

is an award-winning bluegrass band from California’s Central Valley. Now in its twelfth year, the band plays with an easy familiarity, confidence, and a sound all its own. They take their name from red dog, the byproduct of uncontrolled coal waste fires—a metaphor for their hard-driving tunes, authentic bluegrass vocals, and high-lonesome harmonies.
