AJ Lee is a 5 time Female Vocalist of the Year winner from Norther California Bluegrass Society (Years 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015).
At 10, AJ sang the National Anthem at O’Reilly Raceway in Indianapolis for live SPEED televised event and a bustling crowd of 40,000 attendees. When asked later what she thought about the races, she candidly replied, “Well, I don’t know. The trucks just keep going around and around the track.”
When she was 11, she and her former band mate Max Schwartz were asked to be part of the revision for the Discover Bluegrass DVD that is circulated by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). This Exploring American Roots Music project was developed for educational uses in public/private schools, home schooling families, libraries and for music associations.
By the time AJ (Aissa phonetically ‘eye-ee-saa’) was 12, she was actively involved in 2 working bands (OMGG & The Tuttles with AJ Lee) in the California bluegrass scene. Presently at 17, AJ continues to perform in a band The Tuttles with AJ Lee.
2005 – 2010, AJ had shared the Fanfest stage on “Kids on Bluegrass” at the IBMA’s World of Music event.
Californiality, #1 California News Blog, writes, “Wherever AJ Lee performs, audiences are shocked by her supermodel looks, her technically perfect vocals, and her mature onstage professionalism. I, too, was completely blown away by the talented young singer.” (Mark Lorier)
